Weingarten Home

The Weingarten home is a 2000 square foot passive solar home with 3 bedrooms, 2 ½ baths,
library and a great room. This is an Earth Home and is built with 7 inch thick compressed earth brick walls insulated on the outside with 4” soy based foam. The compressed earth bricks are made on site with local dirt. The roof is R40 and insulated with recycled newspaper. The heating and cooling is a geothermal heat pump with radiant floor heating and an energy recovery ventilation system. The home has been selected by the National Association of Home Builders Research Center and HUD to be evaluated as part of HUD’s PATH Program.
